Fortress AmeriKKKa - Day 508

Now that October is here, it's time to start thinking about Chri$tma$. Recently, China's attempt to kill our children with lead poisoning spurred a lot of people to have a "Made in China Free Christmas." Problem is 80% of toys sold in the US are made in China. Here's a link to the story.

Currently, DC Comics is in the midst of recreating the DC Multiverse. You remember the DC Multiverse, don't you? they collapsed it into the DCU (or DC Universe) back in the 80s. I was in Japan at the time, and I had to catch up on the series when I got home.

I'm glad. I missed the old, pre-Crisis DC. I liked Earth-2, and read all the Earth-2 titles. I like the new DCU and hope they continue that. The JSA related titles are beginning to remind me of the Earth-2 titles, with the older heroes teaching the new heroes.

I also noticed that they have also revamped Lex Luthor's back story. Used to be, waaaay back in the 50s and 60s, Luthor was an old friend of Clark from Smallville. John Byrne came along and rewrote all of that. For 20 years, Lex Luthor was just an evil businessman that never met Clark Kent before Kent arrived in Metropolis. Now, Luthor was raised in Smallville, just like the series. This will be like the sixth time I've had to relearn Luthor's origin.

At least it's better than the Marvel Universe. The writers have turned the carefree Marvel Universe into a grim and gritty pre-apocolyptic universe that, except for She-Hulk, just isn't fun anymore.

Help Please!

When Peter Jackson made his travesty that was King Kong, he had to make the natives of Kong's island inhuman, because showing black people in a tribal setting is racist. That's why we don't see Johnny Weismuller movies any more, either.

So how does the Discovery Channel get away with this?

Fortress AmeriKKKa - Day 505

The Minutemen are so busy making sure that no brown-skinned Spanish speaker sneaks across the border, they are not watching the Northern border. Why should they? Canadians are white and speak, for the most part, English. We don't need to watch that border. Right?

Nope.

Government investigators have been smuggling fake radioactive material across our sieve-like Northern border. So far, they have yet to see a single law enforcement officer.

At least we're keeping the meskins out. They're the real enemy.

Fortress AmeriKKKa - Day 504

A year ago, Riverside was the first city in New Jersey to outlaw illegal aliens. The legislation worked well, driving the recent immigrants from Brazil and other Latin American countries left. All's well, right?

Not quite.

Sure, the illegals are gone. So are the hair salons, restaurants and corner shops that once catered to the immigrants. Those legal citizens who had opened boarded up store front buildings and refurbished them had, after the crash, boarded them up again.

Also missing: $82,000 from the city budget due to lawsuits over the ordinance. Town officials have had to delay paving projects, repairs to city hall and the purchase of a new dump truck.

Now, Riverside is repealing their ordinance hoping to money back into the budget to run the city.

I feel safer already.
