Here's an interesting headline: " Study: Diet soda linked to heart risks"

Here's what the article says (fourth sentence): "The study's senior author, Dr. Vasan Ramachandran, emphasized the findings don't show diet sodas are a cause of increased heart disease risks." But, the paragraph goes on to say, it should be investigated.

WHAT?

Something is not linked to a result, so the link should be investigated. That sounds a lot like the WHO study on second hand smoke which said there was no link between second hand smoke and cancer, which was reported as demonstrating the link between second hand smoke and cancer.

Here's hoping the neo-Puritans will pounce on this and begin a lobbying effort to ban all diet sodas in the same way they have banned, well, everything else.

Two sexist, teen boys in McMinnville, OR, are about to be labeled sex offenders for life for slapping a couple of girls' butts. Not for saying, "Who put this pubic hair on my coke?" or "That blouse looks great on you, Louise." You know, the standard forms of sexual harassment. Apparently, they were running around slapping everyone on the butt, and, possibly fearing charges of gender bias or "Old Boy Network-ism" (you know, the things that have closed men's clubs, men's colleges, and opened the Boy Scouts up to women--but have allowed women to keep women's clubs, women's colleges, and other all women activites closed to men) included a couple of girls.

If only the girls had been teachers! Then there would have been sex and the boys victims.

Hello, Zero Tolerance! Goodbye, Rationality.

The other day, I posted about Lying Women in England. Now here's more relationship news from the Mother Country.

Infidelity is good for the British economy. It contributes about $125 million to the economy. But what's really interesting is this:

Around a quarter of men paid for the full cost of the encounter, something that just 5% of women did. On average men picked up two-thirds of the cost, with women generally making a contribution towards drinks, cabs and entertainment such as cinema tickets.

So explain to me why we don't allow Gay marriage? Looks like us heterosexuals are the ones devaluing the institution of marriage.

"Are those decorations real?"

"Allow me to adjust your uniform."

"Can't. . .help. . .myself! Must. . .touch. . .boobies."

Your turn!

I'm not sure how seriously to take this story, Women "lie, cheat and steal". I mean, the headline is not so subtly misogynistic. And the article doesn't get much better. Here are a few excerpts:
  • HALF of all women would lie to their husbands or partners to keep their relationship going if they became pregnant by another man
  • Four out of ten women would lie about contraception to become pregnant, even if their partners don't want a child
  • One third of women would stay with a transvestite husband, while only 17% would stay with a partner who stopped bathing
  • 78% of women regift
  • 30% of women have had an affair with a married man
  • 68% of women don't trust their partners

I call on all my female readers, (Yes! Both of you!) to enlighten us poor members of the male gender and let us know if there's any truth to this.
