Have you seen the new Hummer commercials? They are classic!

In the first one I saw, a woman and her child are waiting in line for a piece of playground equipment, when some kid cuts in line while their bitch of a mother watches. "Excuse me," wimpy mom says, "but my little angel was next." "Yes," the evil bitch says, "She was. She's still next." Or words to that effect.

Wimpy mom rushes off to buy a Hummer. Apparently, she's gonna run over the bitch and her kid.

In the second commercial, a weak, pasty guy has put his tofu and vegetables on the conveyor belt at the checkout stand. A guy behind him puts the plastic divider bar down and loads the belt up behind it with meats. Weak, pasty guy rushes off to buy a Hummer. Apparently, a Hummer is the perfect tofu delivery device.

What's the subtext of the commercials?

Buying a Hummer gives you balls.

That will show that little tramp who cut in line at the playground!

Pop-Ups?

Last week, someone complained about the pop ups on my blog. I have pop ups?

I use Firefox as my primary browser and only see pop ups on those really insistant web sites like www.comics.com. (I really like Get Fuzzy and Luanne!). But if you click on more than one link, you get a cool NetFlix pop up. Even when surfing with IE, which I do irregularly, I don't get pop ups. I have the Google toolbar, and have set IE's pop up blocker to "on." So I don't see pop ups.

So I spent an hour or so trying to track down the culprit.

I had to use four different computers, clear their caches and histories, and load the blog. I learned a couple of things. First, these programmers are smart. Once I loaded a popup, I couldn't reload it without clearing the cache. And second, I still don't know who the culprit is. I deleted a couple of the ads and the pop up disappeared.

I hate pop ups. So if you see one when you load this, please let me know.

Not only does Wal-Mart sell at the lowest prices, they must buy at the lowest prices as well. I went to our local WallyWorld for a portable cd case and a couple of other items. I grab a cart and the right front wheel wobbles. So I choose another cart, and there is a knot on one of the back wheels. When I push it it thumps. And thumps. Every cart in the place rattles, thumps, or pulls to the side. There's not a one that rolls straight and smooth!
