The VA Scandal - More Political Circus

If you think Erik Shinseki actually knew anything about those long wait times in VA hospitals, I have a bridge I want to sell you. Shinseki's job was not to manage each VA hospital's case load, but to deal with the massive bureaucracy the VA is.

In this day and age of partisan politics--where the automatic, knee jerk rejection of one side of the other side's proposals is intended to distract us from the real issues--it's easy to accuse the current administration for hating on the veterans. But our government has been  baiting and switching our veterans since the earliest days of the union.

The Feds tried to shaft the revolutionary war veterans who took members of Congress hostage.

10,000 WWI veterans marched on Washington in 1932, during the height of the great Depression to demand the war bonuses they were promised, but Congress eliminated.

They screwed over Vietnam Veterans after telling them Agent Orange was safe. And Reagan signed the first You-Can't-Sue-Mosanto law.

Guess who are next on the list: that's right! The veterans of our current War on Terror (and Pay No Mind to that Man Behind the Curtain)!

Check out John Daley's rundown of American's maltreatment of her veterans. "America has had, for over 200 years, a great bipartisan tradition of honoring those who have fought for our freedom by fucking them over once they give their guns back."

Remember, that earlier this month, Congress tried to extend Veteran benefits, but found lackluster Republican support. NOW the Republicans are pissed about how they are treating our veterans.

Memorandum

To: The Republican Party

From: Hiikeeba

Subject: Hypocrisy

No human is perfect, yet all politicians have to act perfect to be elected. Republicans often run on a platform of morality: against gay marriage, for the sanctity of the traditional marriage. Then, when caught soliciting bathroom sex and being convicted, say "I have done nothing wrong, and my family, my God and my good constituents know that. We're going to continue to seek justice."

First, Idaho Senator Larry Craig. Second, Washington Legislator Richard Curtis. And third, Florida State Representative Bob Allen. All three are champions of "family values." All three oppose same sex unions. All three enjoy smoking pole.

Take a page from the Democrats, guys. Diane Feinstein has championed the minimum wage for years, yet the law exempts her from paying it to her winery employees. Ted Kennedy has always fought against big oil companies, demanding more in taxes, but somehow managing to exempt his family's oil company in Texas. Ralph Nader has always been a supporter of labor unions, but fired his employees when they tried to unionize. Al Gore flies a private plane all over the world to tell us to cut back on our CO2 emissions and monthly pays the average family's annual electric bill to power his home. These three statesmen are above moral reproach because they are visionaries!

The Republican Party needs to have someone act as a visionary, and they will be immune from all charges of spin and hypocrisy, and, as a result, their shenanigans won't be covered in the MSM.

ALERT!

AP News has learned that--Horror of Horrors!--sexual misconduct is sweeping public schools!

No shit?

Hold on to your burkas, ladies, they don't mean you. They mean men!

Want proof do ya? Check out this link. And this one. Most of the perps in the CNN story are men.

Older men prowling for younger women don't have a cute nickname like "cougar." Nope. They're just pedophiles and sickos.

Air America host Randi Rhodes fell while walking her dog and at least cut her lip.

In the spirit of post-Katrina journalists everywhere, Jon Elliot, another Air America host, obtained no facts and reported she had been attacked and had lost several teeth. In the calm, rational manner of all Liberals, he continued, "Is this an attempt by the right-wing hate machine to silence one of our own? Are we threatening them?"

Hmm. I thought Fox News was the only place that created fake, alarmist news.

Elliot later apologized for jumping to conclusions, but how many people will remember that, versus the sensational announcement that Right Wingers had attacked Rhodes? Apparently, one staffer at Air America, who spoke anonymously, and was not authorized to speak for the network. He told reporters that she was attacked, but it wasn't a hate crime.

I thought all crimes against women were hate crimes. Unless, the attacker wasn't a white male. . .
