Fishermen in China have struck back at the Stingray invasion of the Earth, catching a 6.5 foot wide, 3000 pound monster! The stingrays launched their attack on the surface world in 2006, when they killed Steve Irwin.

Judy Kay Zagorski, of Pigeon, Michigan was killed when a 75 lb Stingray flew out of the water and struck her face as she rode a boat in the Florida Keys.

Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin was killed on September 4, 2006, the first casualty in this global invasion. On October 18, 2006, an 81 year old Florida man survived a stab to the chest by a stingray. Then on November 29, 2006, the stingrays made another drive towards Australia, stabbing a third man in the chest. In January 2007, a New Zealand man was stabbed in the arm.

A New Zealand man was fishing when he was hit in the arm by a stingray barb off Kaiaua Beach, north of Tolaga Bay, on January 20. His aunt flagged down an ambulance, and the man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.

For the third time this year, a man has been stabbed in the chest by a stingray!

On November 29, Danny Allen was working on a fishing boat off South Australia. A stingray caught in the nets was brought aboard and attacked him, stabbing him in the chest. Allen was taken to hospital (as they say Down Under), where he was treated and released the next day.

I always thought it would be a snake that got him, not a Stingray!

Speaking as a big fan of "The Australian Pick-Up Guy" I want to sat how shocked and saddened to hear about Steve's death. I think I've seen every documentary he's done, twice, and have seen Croc Hunter Diaries a dozen times on Animal Planet. I can't think of a better role model for wildlife conservation.

Terri, Bindi and Bob have some big shoes to fill, and I send them my deepest sympathies.

But the saddest thing, is that I will never get to see the Jeff Corwin/Steve Irwin teamup! It would have been glorious!
